The Burnham Test (1964)
In Suicide of the West, James Burnham proposed 39 statements that define the liberal worldview. A "full-blown liberal" agrees with nearly all of them. A reactionary disagrees with nearly all.
Burnham wasn't conducting a personality test. He was mapping an ideology — one so pervasive that its adherents no longer recognize it as an ideology. The managerial class that runs Western institutions holds these beliefs not as opinions but as self-evident truths.
